Carla Schuchman is the creative force behind Masterworks Artistry, and is recognized as one of the top surface designers in The South. Carla has had the opportunity to work with some of the best designers in the South. Based in beautiful Pawleys Island, SC, her work transcends state lines — from North Carolina to Texas (where she was raised). Whether you are working with a designer on a specific project, or one-on-one with a client, you can be guaranteed that the entire experience will be gratifying.
An ambition of Carla's has been to cross the line from faux finishes and mural work, and venture into the realm of canvas paintings and prints. She has been commissioned to paint local scenery for private collections. Some of these paintings are now available and can be purchased directly from us. A select few will be available only as limited edition prints.
Carla's upcoming work includes more original works of art. She plans to enroll in several additional master training courses over the next several years.
Carla has extensive experience in commercial and residential surface design. Her unique finishes combine a flair for color and perspective, which sets her work apart.

Charities Carla is involved with:
Martha's House, Inc. is a Christian halfway house for women released from detention centers in Georgetown and Horry Counties. A percentage of the profits from certain prints that sell go to this charity.
Extreme Makeover Home Edition™. For a second time, Carla has had the honor to be a part of the Extreme Makeover Home Edition team. Carla came together with friends in her field to help fill a need and make a dream become a reality for a local family. At the time, she has said she would do it again if she got the chance – and she did! Carla recently collaborated with her friend Terri Harris on a project to help the Suggs family.
White Harvest Trading Company. Carla donated a painting for auction for missions in India directed by Maryann Bishop of White Harvest.
The painting you did was auctioned to build a church in a very poor remote village of north India. It takes 4,000.00 US dollars to build a church there and our Community Bible Study class raised that money from the auction of your painting. The people are so poor that they eat every other day. They had never seen American women in their village before. Our team was able to cut the ribbon and bless the church family.
